ABOUT THE COMPETITION

The competition pays tribute to restaurateurs who have produced an original and creative wine program.   

 

Restaurants are invited to submit their wine program details to a panel of respected wine experts for judging. 

 

Winners are awarded in the categories of Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze and Honourable Mention.

BENEFITS  

All entrants receive one ticket to each of the following Friday, March 1st Trade events ($125 value)

  • Celebrating Excellence: 10th Annual Awards Lunch featuring California Wines 
  • Trade Tasting with Buyers Hour (1:30 pm start) 

All winners receive:

  • Recognition and an award at the 10th Annual Awards Lunch
  • Online listing at www.vanwinefest.ca
  • Publication in both Vancouver Magazine and Wine Access Magazine
  • Self-promotion of a VanWineFest award-winning wine list on your restaurant's website, wine list and menu
  • Inclusion in awards press release

REQUIREMENTS 

To be considered a restaurateur must complete the following by December 14, 2012:

  • Online Application
  • Submit wine philosophy, current wine list & dinner menu in PDF format
  • Pay non-refundable entry fee of $125 (includes service charges and 12% HST) 

Key criteria includes:

  • The philosophy behind the restaurant's wine program, and how successfully wine & food pairing goals match the philosophy
  • Wine education for staff
  • User-friendly format free of grammatical and spelling errors
  • Value for the public

YOUR RESTAURANT
IN CANADA'S PREMIER WINE EVENT

Be part of Canada's premier wine event by becoming a Sunday Brunch sponsoring restaurant.

Opportunities are available for restaurants to participate in one of our Sunday Brunches (Vintners Brunch and Flavours of the Festival), which will take place on Sunday, March 3, 2013. These wine and food pairing grazing brunches are amongst the Festival's most popular events.

Benefits include Trade Tasting tickets, and significant promotional opportunities in Wine Festival and partner publications and social media.

Vintners Brunch restaurants also participate in the annual Vintners Brunch Food and Wine Pairing Competition, sponsored by Vancouver Sun / Salut.
