2009 Bacchanalia Gala

Bacchanalia Gala Dinner and Auction: The centre piece of the Playhouse Winefest and one of the most spectacular events in the city.

A must for the serious wine collector: The evening provides an unparalleled opportunity to enhance your wine cellar through auctions of rare, valuable and unusual wines donated by some of the world’s top winemakers and private collectors. These unique wines may never again be available.

Experience the ultimate in wine and food pairing: A Champagne reception, two wines per course, five courses. The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver's Executive Chef Robert LeCrom creates a gastronomic delight that will leave your senses reeling. And if its not enough, auctions will include unique experiences, excursions and extravaganzas, featuring Chefs and Sommeliers from the West coast's top restaurants.

Barry Scott, of Maynard's Industries Ltd. once again leads the bidding charge.  Auction lots will be announced a week prior to the event on PlayhouseWinefest.com.

Playhouse Theatre Company: Western Canada's leading theatre company recieves all proceeds of this event. Since its inception in 1979, the festival has raised over $5.8 million for the Playhouse, helping it mount 197 theatrical productions and to create extensive educational and community outreach programs. I learn and taste so much at the Vancouver Playhouse International Wine Festival that I seldom miss it. It's one of the world's best festivals -- certainly Canada's.
